Gwen Walz, the wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, has canceled a planned trip to Maine.
The first lady of Minnesota was initially slated to stop in Maine on Tuesday to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris and mark the differences between her campaign and that of Republican nominee Donald Trump. It was not clear exactly where Gwen Walz had been scheduled to appear.
But she will no longer be stopping in the state, the Harris-Walz campaign said Monday afternoon. The campaign did not provide a reason for the cancellation.
Gwen Walz previously visited the state in September, stopping at a bookstore and campaign office in Bangor before a rally at Thompson’s Point in Portland.
Neither Harris nor Trump has visited Maine this campaign season, though Harris’ husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, stopped in Portland and Falmouth in July.
