As Election Day approaches, I’m urging my fellow residents to consider what’s at stake for our community’s future. That’s why I’m voting for Marcus Emerson for state representative. Marcus’s platform addresses the critical issues facing Augusta, from fiscal responsibility and affordable housing to public safety and education.
Marcus’s experience as a Marine Corps veteran, state employee, and small business owner uniquely qualifies him to represent us. His commitment to no new taxes and reducing regulations will help foster economic growth, while his dedication to public safety and better schools will ensure a brighter future for all of us.
A vote for Marcus Emerson is a vote for common-sense solutions and a better future for Augusta. Please join me in supporting him on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
