As a retired 77-year-old doctor, I’ve seen firsthand the critical role that government support plays in helping individuals succeed. I was able to attend medical school because of student loans, which opened the door to a lifetime of service. Now, 10 years after the Dalai Lama famously said, “Women will save us,” I believe that statement rings truer than ever. My issue is with the cruelty I’ve seen rise in our society. Whether it’s denying Narcan to people with substance use disorder, food for single mothers, or health insurance for children. Where is our compassion? Who will guide us back to our shared humanity?
I place my trust in Raegan LaRochelle. Women in politics understand the struggles of our time, and Raegan is ready to help lead us to our better selves. Let’s support her for the Maine State Senate. Join me on Nov. 5 by voting for Raegan LaRochelle.
