Anne C. Lunt

AUGUSTA – Heaven has a new Angel. Anne C. Lunt passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home Augusta following a long decline in health. Her loving family was by her side.

Anne was born in Gardiner on June 20, 1948, the daughter of the late George H. and Julie R. Curtis. She graduated from Hall-Dale High School.

On Jan. 4, 1967, she married the love of her life, Melvin Lunt, in Farmingdale. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Farmingdale. Anne worked for the Department of Education and retired in 2004 after 37 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, latch-hook, Artex and playing games with family.

Anne was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Frederick Curtis and a sister, Mary Jane Dupont.

She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Lunt of Farmingdale; and two daughters, Becky Russell of Florida and Julie Palesotti of Florida; two brothers, George H. Jr. and Edward Curtis and half-sister, Pauline Webb; five grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Russell and Aiden Donnelly, Anders and Jovanni Palesotti of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Much appreciated are the nurses and staff of MVH Freedom Bay Delta for the compassion and care Anne received while there. Also, I would like to thank the hospice for being there. I made many friends there and will miss you all! I consider them my family, which I will always love.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
