A Richmond man died Saturday after crashing his all-terrain vehicle while hunting in Dixmont.
Patrick LaFlamme, 65, of Richmond, had gone out hunting on his ATV Saturday morning, according to Mark Latti, communications director for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife. When LaFlamme did not return to camp for breakfast, his friends went out looking for him. They found LaFlamme dead on an old tote road, about a mile off the Firetower Road.
An initial investigation by the Maine Warden Service indicated the ATV that Plummer was riding rolled over on top of him, causing his death, Latti said.
The Maine Warden Service responded to the scene around noon Saturday and was assisted by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Dixmont Fire Department and Plymouth Fire and Rescue.
LaFlamme was taken to Plummer Funeral Home in Augusta.
