Jane Lynda Glazier

WINTHROP – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful mom, wife, grandma, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend, Jane Lynda Glazier, on Nov. 1, 2024. Jane passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a complicated recovery from open heart surgery on Aug. 30, the day of her and her husband Francis’s 55th wedding anniversary.

Jane was born at Maine General Hospital in Augusta on Jan. 30, 1951, to William “Bill” Farrell and Clara Rose Ellis. Jane was the eldest of eight children and was a loving and doting big sister to all of her siblings.

Jane attended Winthrop High School graduating in June 1969. That summer was a very exciting summer for Jane as she also started working as an office clerk for the state of Maine Bureau of Taxation that same month. On Aug. 30, 1969 Jane went on to marry her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Francis Wheaton Glazier.

Ten years into their marriage Jane and Fran were overjoyed to welcome their daughter, Jenny, into their world and 11 years later, welcomed their son, Frankie, into their family. Jane’s children and her three grandchildren, Cody, Madison, and Izzy, were the absolute loves of her life.

Jane was a remarkable woman who was able to juggle motherhood and a career holding various positions and titles, from clerk to office manager, at the State of Maine in the Bureau of Taxation. Jane dedicated over four decades of her life working for the State of Maine.

One of Jane’s biggest passions in life was her love of music. Jane had a beautiful singing voice and a knack for entertaining a crowd. Jane used her gift of music to start her own business, J&F Musical Entertainment, Karaoke and DJ Services in 1995. Many of Jane’s family members and dear friends would accompany Jane on her musical adventures. Jane also frequently brought great joy to residents at local nursing homes with the sound of music when she and her large groups of family and friends would sing to all those who attended. Jane and her longtime best friend Donald Dinsmore recorded a CD titled “Welcome to our world of music” which she was extremely proud of. Jane was also a beautiful guitar player and shared her love of playing with her son, Frankie and her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Francis Glazier; her daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” Lee Wright, her son, “Francis” Frankie William Glazier; her grandchildren Cody Mower and his girlfriend Emily Moulton, granddaughter, Madison Wright and her boyfriend Ben Fox, granddaughter, Izzy Wright; sister, Lucy Buckman, brother, Luther “Buster” Ellis and his wife Charlotte, sister, Nancy Cote, sister, Janine Collins and husband Michael Van Ginkel, brother-in-law, Leslie Crocker, brother-in-law, Glenn Glazier, sister-in-law, Debbie Farrell, aunt, Jean Glazier; close cousin, Thomas Pilsbury and his husband Stan York; close nieces Holly Temple and Laura Cadwell, many nieces and nephews that Jane was dearly fond of as well. Jane had many cousins, second cousins and very close friends (blessed is she with too many to mention).

Jane was predeceased by her mother, Clara Ellis and father, William Farrell; her brother, John Farrell, sister, Mary Crocker, brother, Frank Farrell; and nephew, Benjamin Farrell.

Jane’s service and celebration of life will be held on Nov. 23, at 12 p.m. at the Ladd Recreation Center in Wayne. If you would like to contribute items to the celebration of life please contact daughter Jenny through facebook, Jenny Lee Wright.
