ST. LOUIS — Grace Ehlert scored with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation and the Washington University women’s soccer team hung on to beat Colby 1-0 in an NCAA Division III third-round game Saturday afternoon.
Olivia Clemons assisted on the goal as the top-ranked Bears (20-0-2) advanced to the national quarterfinals Sunday.
Junior MK Marshall had eight saves for Colby, which finished 13-5-3. Sidney Conner had three saves for Washington.
The Mules reached the third round of the tournament with a 2-0 upset over No. 3 Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Nov. 17 in Cambridge, Mass.
