Roland A.J. Nault
AUGUSTA – Roland A.J. Nault, 77, passed away at MaineGeneral Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, after a long illness with loved ones at his side. Roland was born Feb. 5, 1947, to Alfred and Antoinette (Paquin) Nault of Portsmouth, NH.
He graduated from Portsmouth High School, served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by the New York Stock Exchange until he retired.
Prior to becoming ill, Roland and Linda enjoyed going on cruises, their many trips to Atlantic City, Las Vegas and several trips to Canada and New Hampshire. Roland had been a member of Le Club Calumet and the Cushnoc Senior Citizens. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish. Roland enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing Texas Hold Em and watching sports on TV.
Roland was predeceased by his brother, Armand Nault and a sister, Jane Hughes.
Roland is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Danielle (Brian) Velkoff, Cynthia (Tim) Rein, Katie (Von) Apugan and a son, Roland (Serena) Nault, Jr.; two step-daughters, Heather (Jay Biel) Levesque and Heidi (Matt) Stratton; brothers, Robert Nault, Joseph (Fern) Nault; sisters, Pauline (Alfred) Belfiore and Rolande (his twin) Carcieri, Penny Ford, Margaret Davis, Susan (Michael) Poulin; brother-in-law, Robert Hughes; sister-in-law, Diane Nault; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
There will be no public visiting hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will take place in the spring in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
