HALLOWELL — Matteo Hardy was awarded the Champions for Children Youth Giraffe Award from the Maine Children’s Alliance.
Hardy is a student at Cony High School and a member of the Kennebec County Youth Advisory Board, a youth prevention group hosted by Healthy Communities of the Capital Area under the Maine Prevention Network, supported by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Hardy, one of the advisory board’s founding members, participates in swimming, tennis, Key Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Club and the Cony Madrigals, and is the assistant set design manager for Chizzle Wizzle.
He also was selected for a paid internship with Flavors Hook Kids Maine, which he completed earlier this year. In addition, he sits on an ad hoc prevention workgroup for the Maine Recovery Council.
