Michael Lilliman
AUGUSTA – Michael Lilliman, 64, of Augusta passed away in his home on Dec. 14, 2024.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1960, in Frankfurt, West Germany, on an American Army Base. Michael was a lifelong learner beginning his academic pursuits at Cony High School. From there he received his B.A.s in both finance and business administration from the University of Maine at Augusta. Outside of school, he was an avid reader about many topics including politics, amphibians, and the history of cinema.
His life’s passion was travel. This passion led to numerous trips throughout Western Europe. In fact, he ended up falling in love with Austria so much that he would become an English language translator at Vienna International Airport. Upon returning home, he would co-own a business on Water Street in Augusta for more than 20 years.
He loved to ski, having learned at a young age at his family’s camp in Carrabassett Valley.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Inge Lilliman.
Surviving are his brother, John Lilliman of Augusta, sister, Jeanne Poulin and her husband Norman of Augusta; nephew, Michael Poulin and wife Whitney of Gray, nephew, Nicholas Poulin of Old Town; aunt, Lila Finley of Moline, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews along with those that reside in Illinois.
A private service will be held for family at a later date.
