
Alice V. Bonenfant
AUGUSTA – Alice V. Bonenfant, 86, passed away on December 19, 2024 at the Alfond Center for Health (MaineGeneral) after a brief illness. She was born on August 25, 1938, a daughter of Violette (Roy) and Thaddee Beaulieu Sr.
Alice grew up in Augusta and was a graduate of Cony High School in the class of 1956. On March 1, 1958, she married Paul Bonenfant and the two settled in Augusta where they raised their family. Alice was employed at Edwards Manufacturing and Central Maine Power prior to running the “front of the house” as the co-owner Bonenfant Construction with her husband. Over the years, Alice and Paul owned many racehorses, many of which were very successful and they enjoyed spending winters in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Alice enjoyed doing her many arts and crafts, and adventuring to Florida with her partner in crime, Lorraine, AKA “Thelma and Louise”.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Thaddee Beaulieu Jr.; and her husband, Paul Bonenfant Sr.
Alice is survived by her children, Diane Arnold and her husband Brian, Patricia Bonenfant and her partner David Berube, Paul Bonenfant Jr. and his partner Carla Stevens, and Michael Bonenfant and his partner Stacie Gallant; grandchildren, Brandon Arnold, David Beland and his fiancee Emily Coulombe, Brianna Merrill and her husband Thomas, Kyle Bonenfant, Alisa Bonenfant, Brooke Bonenfant, and Mitchell Bonenfant; great grandchildren, Ryan, Kilian, Hadley, Daisy, Olivia, Adalee; and her siblings, Gerard Beaulieu and his wife Genie, Michael Beaulieu, and Irene Burdzel.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 3 at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, ME 04330. Burial will take place in the spring at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta, ME 04330.
