
John M. Gray
AUGUSTA – John M. Gray, 62, died on Dec. 7, 2024, following a long battle of pain as a result of an aneurysm operation. He was born in Augusta, on Sept. 30, 1962 to Roy and Mary (Fuller) Gray.
John’s parents passed away when he was very young, so he came to live with his sister Sharon and her husband George Dumas. He attended school in the Augusta area. He worked for several years for his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Carol Gray, who owned New England Pool Company. John then went to work for Bath Iron Works, where he stayed for 37 years, retiring in 2021.
In 2005 John married his lovely wife Patricia who predeceased him in 2021. Patricia had five wonderful children from her previous marriage whom John considered his family. However, the “apples” of his eye were his granddaughters, Kiana, Kahlia, Alexia, and Adeah.
At his request there will be no public visiting hours. Inurnment will be in late spring at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. A celebration of John’s life will follow at a place to be determined. All friends and family members will be notified. Family and friends are invited to visit John’s Book of Memory’s at http://www.wilesrc.com to leave words of comfort, a story or a reflection. Caring for and cremation services are provided by Wiles Remembrance Center- Farmington.
