Emma L. Brann
AUBURN – Emma L. Brann, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at the Chapman House in Auburn.
She was born in Norfolk, Va. on Nov. 13, 1932, the daughter of William and Vivan (Emmons) Walker. Emma married John Alden Brann in 1951 in Gardiner at Christ Church. She resided in Litchfield for 58 years, until moving into St. Mary’s Residence for five years, then the Chapman House for the last 18 months.
Emma worked at various businesses doing bookkeeping, then going to work for the State of Maine where she was a clerk for the board of licensure for professional engineers until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband John, and a sister Virginia Baughker.
Emma is survived her two sons Jeffrey Brann and Kenneth Brann and wife Linda; three grandchildren Whitney, Marion and Becky; six great grandchildren Bailey, Taylor, Zach, Emma, Jack and Raina.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Chapman House and Andwell Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Emma.
A spring graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday May. 16, 2025, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Augusta.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
