BINGHAM – Anne (McQuilkin) Miller, 92, of Bingham, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield. She was born in Solon on May 14, 1932, the daughter of Maurice and Abbie (Wiley) McQuilkin. On Nov. 25, 1948, she married Merl Miller of Bingham. They shared 57 years together and had eight children.
Anne’s life work was in the home. Family was very important to her and she looked forward to having everyone together. She particularly enjoyed hosting the family on Christmas Eve. “Come early and stay late” was her mantra.
Over the years Anne spent her time supporting the family with whatever was needed. In addition to raising her own children, she often looked after grandkids, raised puppies, helped on the farm, supported her husband’s work and sold grain. Her baking was second to none. Homemade bread, donuts and pizza was always in high demand.
She was modest and didn’t ask for much. She was selfless and was always willing to share whatever she had with anyone that needed it.
Anne was predeceased by husband Merl; children, Joyce Bigelow, Keith Miller, Maurice Miller and an infant son who died shortly after birth; grandchildren, Gilbert Bigelow, Keith Miller Jr. and Rebecca Bigelow; siblings, Oscar McQuilkin, Phyllis Knowlton, Ernest McQuilkin and Priscilla Frederick.
Anne is survived by daughter Sheila Perkins of Brunswick; sons, Darrell Miller of North Anson, Keven Miller and wife Kelly of Bingham, Eric Miller and wife Cynthia of Bingham; grandchildren, Abbi Miller, Julie Owen, Wade Perkins, Heidi Seely, Amanda Hines, Athena Miller, Alicia Miller, Nikki Miller, Dustin Miller, Trisha Miller, Trevor Miller, Richelle Atwood, Hallie Miller, Jillian Miller; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
