
TURNER – Anthony W. Langlin, 76, of Turner, passed away peacefully, Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at his home, with his wife by his side, following a diagnosis of Myelodysplastic Syndrome. He was born on Aug. 6, 1948, in Livermore, the son of William P. Langlin and Kathleen (Safford) Langlin. He attended school in Turner. Tony started working at a young age, he worked at Bradford Beedy’s farm in Hartford and Lawrence Cadwell’s farm in Turner, as a mason tender for Gordan Millett Masonry, a laborer in construction and later as a millwright carpenter through Local Union #407 in Lewiston. He was also a skilled carpenter and built a beautiful home at Howes Corner and his current home on Bean Street. In the early 80’s he went to work for Sappi Paper at the Somerset Mill in Skowhegan, where he worked until he retired at the age of 62. On Oct. 3, 1970, he married Linda Tufts of Greene, and they had two daughters, Amy and Ellen. He later married Kay (Grondin) Tidswell of Jay on Oct. 24, 1986, and made their home in Turner. In his younger years, Tony enjoyed roller skating at Bear Pond Park, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, his FORD trucks and keeping himself busy. He and Kay spent many years camping at Powder Horn in Old Orchard, Happy Horseshoe in New Portland, and Augusta West. Tony will be remembered for being a loving husband and father, the love and pride he had for his family and for his work ethics.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kay Langlin of Turner, his daughters, Amy Hinkley and husband Michael of Auburn, and Ellen Wood and husband Ian of Greene, his stepson, Cory Tidswell and fiancée, Shawna of Greene, grandsons, Jared Wood and Abel Tidswell, siblings, Brenda Houle of Livermore, Dennis Langlin and wife Eileen of Leeds, Barbara “Renee” Lucas of Hartford and Kathy Langlin of Livermore Falls, brother-in-law, Blaine Cram of Wales, his uncle, Bernard Langlin Sr. and wife Jane of Livermore, many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, Tony and Mary Grondin, infant brother, David Langlin, his sister, Deborah Cram, brothers-in-law, Kerry Marquis and Wesley Lucas, and several aunts and uncles. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Interment in the spring at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street, Auburn, Maine. Arrangement by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls.
