A Julia Gagnon concert is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
Originally from Cumberland, Gagnon gained national acclaim after placing in the top seven performers of the 22nd season of “American Idol.” Gagnon is a student at the University of Southern Maine, and her singing journey started at a school talent show.
During her time with “American Idol,” Gagnon became a household name across the state, with Mainers rallying to support her in any way possible.
Following her success on the show, Gagnon announced a statewide tour last summer — also called the “Here in Maine” tour – and is working on writing and recording new music with her fiancé and musical partner, Nate Haven.
Tickets cost $31-$41.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
