PORTLAND — The Maine Jewish Museum has announced its 2025 inductees to the Maine Jewish Hall of Fame.
The 2025 class includes the following (* is in memory of the person): Leah Binder, Washington, D.C. (formerly Farmington); Harris Gleckman, Cumberland; Charlie* and Ellie Miller, Scarborough; William “Billy” Miller, Bangor; *Edith Pagelson, Falmouth; *Judge Abraham Rudman, Bangor; and *Judge Louis Scolnik, Lewiston.
The Maine Jewish Hall of Fame, presented by Dorothy Suzi Osher in memory of Alfred Osher, was created in 2018 to bestow recognition on outstanding Jewish leaders from throughout the state who have brought distinction and honor to Maine or beyond, according to a news release from the museum.
Those listed, who were elected in to the 2025 class by the Nominating Committee, reflect the Jewish value of making the world a better place through outstanding accomplishments and/or humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors. This year’s inductees include leaders in the fields of education, business, law, governmental policy, community service, human rights and medicine.
The museum inducts a new class into the Hall of Fame every other year and invites the community to attend the 2025 induction ceremony, set for Sunday, June 8 at the Maine Jewish Museum. Eight new inductees will be enshrined in a ceremony at 3 p.m.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
