AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Park and Lands has announced that camping reservations begin in February. People can check out the State Park Campgrounds on the campground maps page at maine.gov, where one can print campground maps and view campsites on Google Earth.
There are two planned reservation start dates — Monday, Feb. 3, and Thursday, Feb. 6, — and the separate reservation process for the Group Camping and Picnic Shelter reservations begins Feb. 3. Minimum and maximum stay reminders are listed below.
Reservations will not be taken for Aroostook and Cobscook Bay State Parks until after the construction end date has been confirmed. Both parks are closed to ensure that major improvements can proceed safely. For more information, contact Matthew Hamilton, northern regional state park manage, at 207-941-4014.
Campground reservations opens at 9 a.m. Feb. 3 for Lily Bay State Park and Sebago Lake State Park. Sebago Lake State Park requires a minimum four-night stay if people make reservations during February for the camping season.
Reservations and reservation information is at CampWithME.com. The storm date if the state government is closed is Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Group camping and picnic shelter reservations also begin at 9 a.m. Call the park directly; online reservations are not available.
