The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association has launched the MOFGA Ambassador Program, an initiative intended to empower volunteers around the state to make positive change in the communities where they live and work.
This program invites participants from across Maine to serve as part of a yearlong cohort, working together to advocate for organic farming and foster sustainable communities. The association encourages applications from individuals age 16 and older withIF diverse identities, experiences and skills, according to a news release from Timothy Boston, the association’s community engagement coordinator.
Ambassadors will receive training, collaborate on projects, and bring the association’s mission to schools, events and gatherings statewide. In this inaugural year, ambassadors will also play a key role in shaping the program, sharing their ideas and expertise to design the work of future cohorts.
Applications are due by Friday, Feb. 28. Selected participants will be announced March 21, and the program will officially beginning in April.
Forms are available at mofga.org. For more information, contact Boston at tboston@mofga.org or 978-255-3180.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
