AUGUSTA — The Maine Hospice Council and Center for End-of-Life Care is set to host a Community-Based Palliative Care for ME: Statewide Educational Conference Thursday and Friday, March 27 and 28, at Thomas College, 180 West River Road.
Registration is open until Friday, Jan. 31.
The conference will bring together palliative care experts to share current data analytics, messaging, education and other relevant information to providers and consumers in Maine. They will underscore the value of offering palliative care statewide, as well as developing palliative care programs in all Maine hospitals, according to a news release from Kathryn Randall, executive assistant of the Maine Hospice Council.
The conference keynote speakers and their topics are:
• Marian Grant, “Using Evidence-based Principles to Strengthen Public/Provider Engagement with Palliative Care;”
• Constance Dahlin, “National Consensus Guidelines: Framing Quality Palliative Care;” and
• Torrie Fields, founder/CEO TFA Analytics and strategic advisor to the Coalition to Transform Care, “Developing a Statewide Medicaid Palliative Care Benefit for Maine: Focusing on Value-based Analytics.”
