AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, along with the Maine Department of Education, in collaboration with statewide agriculture organizations, seeks students interested in attending Maine Agriculture Policy Day, set for on Tuesday, March 18.
This event offers selected students a firsthand look at agricultural policymaking. Participants will tour the State House, meet with legislators and industry stakeholders, and participate in the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Joint Standing Committee session. Students will also engage in a virtual pre-session on Friday, March 7 and post-session on Friday, March 28.
The event is scheduled alongside National Agriculture Day and Maine Agriculture Day. The Hall of Flags at the State Capitol will showcase Maine’s agricultural industry, featuring exhibits, discussions, and networking opportunities from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
