AUGUSTA — Maine Resists plans to hold a “NO KINGS Protest” from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the State House.

This is meant to be a peaceful protest in solidarity against the abuse of power and dissolution of checks and balances taking place at the federal level, and opposition to systemic injustices against LGBTQ+ individuals, racism, DEI cutbacks and ICE and immigration abuses, women’s rights and more, according to a news release from the organization.

Amenities on-site will include two portable toilets (one ADA-compliant and one standard) and a supply table offering refreshments, handwarmers and gloves. Out of an abundance of caution, attendees are asked to wear a mask.
