
Carolyn Mae Bailey
CHELSEA – Carolyn Mae Bailey passed away on Feb. 6, 2025 after a long illness. She was born in Skowhegan to the late Bernell and Lena (LeBlanc) Perkins.
Carolyn was employed by the Textile Co. and Etonic Tretorn for many years.
She and her husband and family enjoyed their cottage on Ward Pond in Sidney for 20 years! Carolyn was a talented artist. She did portraits, scenery, animals…etc. She enjoyed country and pop music. Carolyn especially loved the music of Elvis Presley and dancing! She was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox!
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Glenwood Bailey; her infant son, John, and her daughter, Trina Tatro. Her sisters Francine Perkins, Beverly Perkins-Tripp, and Stella Young also predeceased her, as did her beloved granddaughter, Michelle Bailey.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Hinkley; her children Glenda Doubleday (Jack) of Wisconsin, Michael Bailey (Lorraine) of Vermont, Shawn Bailey of Lewiston and Troy Bailey of Chelsea; her grandchildren Arley, Anna, Jessica, Kristen, Joshua and Ronald; as well as several great-grandchildren. She held dear her many nieces and nephews.
A site service will be held at the Hallowell Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers donations in Carolyn’s name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
