ROCKLAND — Pies on Parade is set to return Friday to Sunday, March 14-16. The community-wide event provides an opportunity for people to sample pies over the course of a weekend, while providing support for AIO Food and Energy Assistance, serving all of Knox County.

Getting involved with Pies on Parade are Jessie Odgren, left, a long-time AIO friend and a Camden-Rockport Middle School teacher, who has partnered with Sue Burwell, family consumer science teacher at the school. Submitted photo
AIO Food and Energy Assistance reestablished this event in partnership with Rockland’s LimeRock Inn and Camden’s Blue Harbor House Inn, in honor of AIO’s 35th anniversary this year. All ticket sales will benefit AIO’s four programs — food assistance, energy assistance, weekend meal, and diaper assistance.
Over the “Pi Day” weekend, hundreds of people are expected to sample pies while visiting more than 50 participating “Pie Stops” in Camden and Rockport on March 15, and in Rockland and Thomaston on March 16.
Tickets cost $20 for a one-day ticket or $35 for a two-day/weekend ticket. The list of participating pie stops and ticket purchase link are at aiofoodpantry.org.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
