Gloria P. White
RANDOLPH – Gloria P. White, 95, of Randolph, Maine passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, with her beloved cat, Tiger Lily, curled up at her side.
Born in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey in 1929, perseverance and curiosity about everything around her provided the blueprint for her long life.
Independent from a young age, Gloria loved watching professional sign painters high up on their scaffolding, pressing her nose through the fence at the airport watching planes take off and land, and sailing with her grandfather. She excelled in drafting, drawing and painting in high school. Gloria spent over three decades as a Visual Information Specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense before moving to Maine. A clever, creative and talented illustrator and consummate natural problem solver, she was formally recognized many times for her skills, dedication and sense of humor. Gloria loved animals, wild and domestic and they were the subject of her art for many years. She enjoyed driving her Mini Cooper, gardening, cooking, woodworking, sailing, photography, keeping up with the news and never turned down a chance for a good road trip adventure.
Predeceased by her mother, father, stepfather, sisters, significant other and nephew, Gloria is survived, by her niece, grandniece, and a small network of close cat-loving friends and kind neighbors. Thank you to Amedisys Home Health Care for being an important part of her support system this past year. The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine deserves enormous thanks for the gentle care and attention to Gloria in her final days.
A small private gathering will take place in her honor later this spring.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, ME. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral website http://www.StaplesFuneralHome.com
