
Christine “Chrissy” E. (Hewitt) Fortin
WEST GARDINER – Christine “Chrissy” E. (Hewitt) Fortin, 52, of West Gardiner, passed away in her home on Feb. 16, 2025, with her husband Rick of 34 years, and their dog Molly, after her battle with cancer.
Chrissy was born Nov. 14, 1972, in Lowell, Mass., and is the daughter of Forrest H. “Butch” Hewitt and Charlotte A. Hewitt. When she was 8 years her family moved and settled in Maine. She attended schools in Tewksbury, Mass., Wayne and Gardiner, Maine.
She held numerous jobs over the years, but the job she loved most was being an Ammie to her three grandchildren Addy, Truly and Jack-Jack. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at cookouts, the local fairs, supporting her grandchildren in their events and most recently getting to experience going to Disney at Florida.
She was predeceased by her father Forrest “Butch” Hewitt. Chrissy leaves behind her husband Rick Fortin and their daughters Rachel Pierce and Amanda Barbieri; her grandchildren, Truly, Adaline and Jaxson; her in-laws Ernest and Janet Atkins, her brother-in-law Jason and his wife Amanda. Chrissy also leaves behind her sister Leah and her husband David Rose, and sister Diane E. Beaulieu, and brother Joseph M. Beaulieu. She also leaves behind many uncles and aunts Robert and Joan Nichols, Theanna and Darius Barlett; and many nieces and nephews Alisha. Shawn, Christopher, Timothy, Jeron Rines-Lawry, Ian, Aidan, Jamie, Nadia and Seth Stevens; special friend Marcie Warren, as well as others not mentioned.
At Chrissy’s request there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Direct Cremation of Maine 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, ME. 04915
