Thomas Pichette scored the eventual winning goal at 6:40 of the third period, and the University of Maine celebrated its Senior Night with a 4-3 win over Vermont in a Hockey East game Saturday at Alfond Arena.
Josh Nadeau, Nicholas Niemo and Owen Fowler also scored for Maine (21-6-5, 13-4-5 Hockey East), which is assured of finishing first or second in the Hockey East standings. The fifth-ranked Black Bears have two games remaining, at UMass next weekend.
Max Strand, Simon Jellus and Blake Steenerson scored for Vermont (11-18-3, 6-14-2).
