AUGUSTA — Layton Moulton has been named Capital Area Technical Center’s February professional of the month. Moulton, a senior at Maranacook Community High School, resides in Readfield and is enrolled in the Medical/Veterinary Terminology program at the center.
She is grateful for the opportunity to explore both the medical and veterinary fields through the program. She especially enjoys being surrounded by classmates who share her passion for the medical field. While the terminology has seemed to have come easily to her, Layton dedicates time to rewriting and memorizing the thousands of terms required for success in the program, according to a news release from Stephanie Turgeon, Student Services coordinator at the center.
In addition to her studies at the center, Moulton takes three Advanced Placement courses — biology, math and English.
Moulton is involved in theater at Maranacook and was a member of the school’s volleyball team. She plans to attend college in the fall and pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, with the goal of becoming a veterinary technician.
