LEWISTON — Singer-songwriter and award-winning poet Chris Robley plans to play an intimate, unplugged show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at LA Arts, 168 Lisbon St.
Robley will be joined by collaborators Jeff Christmas and Sorcha Cribben Merrill, both multi-instrumentalists and singers. The trio will perform an acoustic set of Robley’s Americana and indie-pop songs — with lots of three-part vocal harmony, upright bass, percussion, guitar, and piano.
Robley’s orchestral indie-pop and folk music has been praised by The LA Times, The Boston Globe, NPR’s Second Stage, Performer and The Associated Press. Skyscraper Magazine said he is “one of the best short-story musicians to come along in quite some time.”
His poetry has been published in POETRY Magazine, Prairie Schooner, Poetry Northwest and Beloit Poetry. Robley is the winner of Boulevard’s Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers, a recipient of a Maine Literary Award in poetry, and was selected by Robert Pinsky as a finalist for the Dorset Prize.
Tickets are $20 at laarts.org/performances. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase for ages 21 and older.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
