FARMINGDALE – Dorothy Lind Skehan of Farmingdale passed away on Feb. 26, 2025, at the age of 58.

Dot was born in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in 1986. She enjoyed sports from an early age and truly enjoyed serving as the manager for the Cony High School Girls Basketball team. After high school, she boldly entered a Goodwill job training program in Portland. After successfully completing the program Dot went to work at Maine General Hospital in Augusta where she met the love of her life, Jeffrey Skehan. The two married and enjoyed 28 years together. Dot and Jeff shared a love of sports. Their love of sports provided relief from the stress related to multiple disabling challenges they both dealt with. Their stubborn sense of independence allowed them to travel to Boston to see both the Red Sox and the Celtics. Despite many challenges Dot and Jeff were able to build a great life together.

Dot was predeceased by her father Walter Lind. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey, her mother Donna Lind, her brother Eric Lind and his wife Sandra, and nephews, Keith Lind and Kevin Lind. She is also survived by a very close and special aunt, Carol Robbins, of Gardiner.

The family thanks CB Mattson Inc. for providing safe and comfortable housing, Family Medicine Institute in Augusta, the Maine General Health Assertive Community Treatment team, and the Gardiner Maine first responders.

There will be no funeral or visiting hours. Burial will be in the spring with a private family ceremony.

Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, One Church Street, Augusta, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com
