
Raymond “Tuffy” Fleury
WINTHROP – Raymond “Tuffy” Fleury, 92, passed away on March 14 2025, at Maine General Hospital due to complications from surgery.
Raymond was born in Winthrop on Jan. 30, 1933, the son of Robert and Antoionette Fleury. He grew up in Winthrop and attended Winthrop schools. After high school he served in the United States Army in Korea from 1953 -1955. Following the military, Tuffy returned to a lifelong career as a house painter. He met Joan Rea at a dance hall and they married in 1957.
Tuffy was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Catholic Men’s Club.
He enjoyed fishing, cribbage, listening to jazz, reading, watching PBS, and enjoyed tending to his wood stove.
He is survived by his wife Joan, sister Carmen and husband Chuck. His four children, Pam and her partner Dan, Doug, Glenn and his wife Jodi, and Kim. Grandchildren, Anthony and wife Rachel, Ryan and partner Mario, Nathaniel, Mariah and husband Michael, Carissa and wife Eve, Landon and wife Amanda. As well as seven great-grandchildren, nephew Nick and husband Henry, and Niece Kelly.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday March 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 130 Rt. 133, Winthrop. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine.
