Narda Ann Hinkley
RICHMOND – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Narda Ann Hinkley on March 16, 2025, at the age of 68, following a short battle with a rare cancer. She left us far too soon, but we are forever grateful for the time we had with her.
Narda was born on May 24, 1956, in Augusta to Marvina Davis and Leon Ward Jr. She grew up in Whitefield and graduated from Wiscasset High School class of 1972.
Shortly after high school, she met the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” C. Hinkley, and they married on July 19, 1975. Together, they made their home in Richmond, where they raised their two children, Nicole and Aaron.
Narda worked for many years at Clarostat, where she was fortunate to form lifelong friendships. After its closing, she joined Bath Iron Works (BIW), where she dedicated 33 years of service as a planner and shop steward before retiring in 2021.
In retirement, Narda devoted much of her time to her beloved grandchildren, attending their many sporting and school events—always their biggest cheerleader. She found joy in puzzles, caring for her plants (which thrived under her green thumb), and spending time with family and friends. If you were lucky enough to be one of Narda’s friends, you were a friend for life.
Narda was predeceased by her husband, Gene; her mother, Marvina, her father, Leon; her stepfather, Ronnie; and her father- and mother-in-law, Horace and Marlene Hinkley.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Reggie Cooley, along with their children, Lainey, Abby, and Jake; her son, Aaron Hinkley, and his children, Payton, Brealyn, Courtney, Jensen, and Oliver; her brothers Greg (Kathy), David (Karl), and Mark (Patty) Ward, her sister, Heidi (Richard) Daniel; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends.
Funeral services are under the direction of Kincer Funeral Home, Richmond.
Narda’s service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at Kincer Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow directly after the service at the Gardiner Elks Lodge, 148 Cobbossee Ave., Gardiner.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME 04357.
