
William M. “Skip” Loiko
VASSALBORO – William M. “Skip” Loiko,76, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the VA Hospital at Togus Hospice unit, Togus Springs. He was born in Augusta on June 19, 1948, a son of the late John J. and Stella (Swiek) Loiko.
Skip was a graduate of Cony High School and was a communicant of St. Michael Parish. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Viet Nam War. Skip was an owner/operator of Fort Western Tire Company for many years.
He was predeceased by a son, Adam J. Loiko, and two brothers, John and Richard Loiko.
Skip is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia R. (Godbout) Loiko of Vassalboro; a daughter, Melyssa L. Plath and her husband Will of Clifton, Va., a son, Ben W. Loiko and his wife Libby of Vassalboro; a brother, Frank Loiko and his wife Jill of Belgrade; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on June 27 at 12 p.m. at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
