ALPINE

Phoebe Bell, Maranacook junior: Bell placed second in slalom at the Class B championships and won the Mountain Valley Conference giant slalom race. She qualified for the Maine State Alpine Ski team.

 

 

 

Lily Boulanger, Mountain Valley junior: Boulanger finished in the top three in both slalom and giant slalom at the Class B state meet and was second in GS at the Mountain Valley Conference championships.

Margo Hesson, Falmouth junior: Hesson worked her back from an injury last season, winning the Class A slalom title and placing fourth in giant slalom. At the SMAA championships, she took first in giant slalom and fourth in slalom.

 

 

 

Logan MacLeod, Yarmouth junior: The Varsity Maine Skier of the Year finished first in slalom and giant slalom at the Class B state meet, and also won the Western Maine Conference slalom title. She led Yarmouth to its first Alpine state championship since 2022.

Sophie Simard, Leavitt senior: Simard won the Class A slalom title and took sixth in giant slalom. At the KVAC meet, she won giant slalom and was third in slalom.

 

 

 

NORDIC

Rowan Barry, Greely junior: Barry earned Class B classical, freestyle and pursuit state titles. She also was the classical and freestyle champion at the Western Maine Conference championship.

Maya Kellett, Mt. Blue senior: Kellett consistently finished second behind teammate Nora McCourt, including at the state meet, to play a key role in the Cougars claiming their fifth consecutive state championship. She was the runner-up at the Kennebec Valley Conference meet and placed fourth at the Roy Varney Hornet Classic.

 

 

Nora McCourt, Mt. Blue senior: McCourt repeated as the classical, freestyle and pursuit champion at the Class A state meet, helping Mt. Blue win yet another team title. She also swept the KVAC Nordic championships races.

Ida Waterman, Gray-New Gloucester freshman: Waterman made an immediate impact in her first high school ski season, finishing second in classical and fourth in pursuit at the Class B championships.

 

 

 

Clara White, Orono senior: White’s time of 16:48.2 in the Class C classical race was the fastest time in the state, regardless of class. She also won Class C championships in freestyle and pursuit. White was named the Mountain Valley Conference skier of the year and won the Eastern High School Championships after the high school season.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Evan Keefer, Falmouth Alpine: Working with a mix of returning skiers and newcomers, Keefer guided Falmouth to its second straight Class A Alpine championship. The Navigators also won the SMAA championship.
