SKOWHEGAN – Adrienne “Peggy” Leo, 105, passed away on March 14, 2025, after a period declining health, at the Redington Memorial Home in Skowhegan.

She met Capt. Sherwood Leo, and they later married on March 6, 1943, in Ft. Benning, Ga., where Sherwood was based at that time. They moved back to the Fairfield area, and upon Sherwood’s retirement from the Army, moved to Skowhegan where they built a home and raised five children.
Peggy was devoted to her family. She enjoyed welcoming all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. She worked part-time as the former Norrwock Shoe Company, was a homemaker, and Boy Scout Den leader. She was a long-standing parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan, as well as an Active member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards with her friends, working on puzzles, as well as being an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also enjoyed spending time at camp in Long Pond in Jackman.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Sherwood of 40 years; one son Daniel; one granddaughter Holly; and four siblings, Marion, Gerald, Joe, and Lucille.
Peggy is survived by her four children Laverne Reed and husband Kenneth of Norridgewock, Janet Ferland and husband Bruce of Kennebunk, James Leo and wife Pamela of Norridgewock, and Kathy Damon and husband Jeffrey of Madison. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
