Lynn Roberts Reed
WINTHROP/KINGFIELD – Lynn Roberts Reed, 64, passed away peacefully March 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 21, 1960, in Augusta, the daughter of Terry and Janice (LaPrise) Roberts.
Lynn was raised in Winthrop, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1978. She attended UMaine Augusta and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1984. Lynn married the love of her life, Steve, on July 4, 1982; they built their own house on Maranacook Lake where they lived for almost 20 years.
Lynn loved adventure and the outdoors. She split her time between Winthrop and Kingfield, and cherished the moments spent at camp at Northeast Carry. She enjoyed hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, waterskiing, fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening and any activity that brought her closer to nature. Lynn was a proud member of the Towanda snowmobile group where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow women riders. However, the dearest to her heart was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lynn’s adventurous spirit was not limited to her personal life; it also shaped her career. She followed in the footsteps of her family, working for the family business and eventually taking it over alongside her brother Leon. She graduated from FINE Mortuary School as a 6th-generation funeral director and served the community until her retirement in 2024. In recent years, she also worked at the Western Maine Center for Children in Carrabassett Valley, further demonstrating her dedication to serving others.
Lynn was predeceased by her father Terry, grandmother Lucille Roberts, and granddogs Eddy and Timber. She is survived by her husband Steve; mother Janice; son Ryan and his wife Sarah, daughter Jada and her husband Jeremy Clark; grandchildren Jacie and Jack Clark; brother Leon and his wife Kim Roberts, sister Valerie Starkie; nieces Malori and Marissa, and Italian daughter Miky; she was a loyal and devoted friend to many people.
There will be memorial visiting on Thursday April 3, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home (62 Bowdoin St, Winthrop, ME). A funeral service will take place on Friday April 4, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church (726 Western Ave, Manchester, ME) with refreshments to follow; anyone who wishes is encouraged to wear bright colors.
