Jeannette Mary Chandler
PITTSFIELD – Jeannette Mary Chandler, 85, died peacefully on March 24, 2025, at her home in Palmyra.
She was born on Oct. 7, 1939, in Eagle Lake, Maine, the daughter of the late Arthur and Esther (Mercier) Ouellette. She graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1957 and worked in the banking industry for many years.
Jeannette was very social and loved entertaining. She was a terrific cook and baker. She enjoyed sewing, walking and camping. She was a faithful communicant of St. Agnes Church and enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Guild and volunteering for the Knights of Columbus monthly breakfast.
She is survived by her children, Scott Whitman and wife Sonya Howard of Thomaston, Lisa Reid and husband Paul of Greenland, N.H., and Heidi Nigro of Greenland, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Mandy, Alex, Nicole, Tracie, Phillip, Matthew, and Nicolas; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers Jim Ouellette and wife Pat of Pittsfield and Roland Ouellette and wife Sharon of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Charles; three brothers, Wilson, Nelson, and Merlon, and sister, Joan.
The family would like to thank all of Jeannette’s dear friends, neighbors, and medical team that faithfully watched over her to see to her needs when family could not be near.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Avenue, in Pittsfield. A committal will immediately follow at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, in Pittsfield.
