Mainers can now head to Ramona’s for a revamped Italian hoagie featuring ham instead of mortadella and salami while “unidentifiable cheese” replaces provolone. Wash that down with a can of Hannaford’s new seltzer flavors, with such delicious names as “pothole punch” and “lobster claw crush.”

Maine accounts — including state government agencies, the Portland Sea Dogs and a slew of local restaurants — had some fun on social media Tuesday. Humorous posts ranged from circus elephant bones purportedly being found in Portland to J’s Oyster announcing its “plans” to open a location in Times Square. One even spoofed this very newspaper (we’re flattered).
Here’s a roundup of our favorite funny posts.

These specially designed bridges will provide safe passage for squirrels over busy roads, lower wildlife-vehicle collisions, and reduce roadkill cleanup costs by up to 7%.
