
Fredrick Oliver Glazier
CANAAN – Fredrick Oliver Glazier, 83, formerly of Canaan, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025.
Husband of the late Shirley (Pelletier) Glazier and son of the late Pearl McCaslin Glazier, of Winslow and Earl E. Glazier of Fairfield. Fred was born Feb. 13, 1942 in Waterville. Fred graduated from Hinckley High School, in 1960 and spent three years serving in the United States Air Force. He was known as a hard worker and worked a variety of jobs throughout his adult life in support of his family.
Outside of work, Fred loved nothing more than to be the center of attention and was well known for his colorful and outrageous sense of humor. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle well into his 60s and loved animals, playing golf, and watching the Boston Red Sox. Shortly after his wife’s passing, he was diagnosed with dementia and moved into an assisted living facility until his passing.
Fred is survived by his sister, Ann Penland of Ogden, Utah, her four children and her six grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sons, Tony and Steven, and three daughters, Gayle, Diane and Gwen; and nine grandchildren.
Fred’s ashes are to be interred April 8, with his wife Shirley’s ashes at the New Maine Veterans Cemetery at 163 Mount Vernon Rd., in Augusta.
