
Betty Jean Dow
MADISON – Betty Jean Dow, 81, of Madison, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on Sept. 8, 1943, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Leonard Dufour and Anne Thibault. Betty was a beloved member of her community and a devoted member of the Grange Hall, and the Tardiff-Belanger American Legion Auxiliary Unit 39. Her love for her community was evident in all she did, and she served with both heart and dedication. Betty cherished time with her family. As the true matriarch, she brought warmth, strength, and unconditional love to all those around her. Her home was always open, her heart always full, and her presence a source of comfort and joy.
She was predeceased by her son, David Duprey, and her granddaughter, Lynzy Rose Duprey.
Betty is survived by her children: Tony Duprey his wife Cyndy, Lenny Duprey, Norma Jean Duprey and Michael Cates his wife Sarah. Her cherished grandchildren: Ezekiel, Jessika, Joshua, Alex, and Autumn; three great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. She is also survived by her siblings: Mae Willis, Maynard Dufour, Anita Hardy, Linda Dufour. She will also be lovingly remembered by her former spouse and best friend, Cecil Dow.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple Street Madison.
