Harry Holmstrom, Maine Central Institute junior: A state singles tournament qualifier a year ago, Holmstrom is back as the No. 1 singles player for a team that was the Class C South runner-up at 11-4 last season.
Ethan Linkletter, Madison senior: A Mountain Valley Conference first-team selection and state singles contestant last season, the senior is expected to contend for MVC Player of the Year honors.
Sawyer Rooney, Winthrop/Maranacook junior: Another MVC first-team selection, Rooney helped lead the Ramblers to a bounce-back 7-6 campaign last year after the team went a combined 1-18-1 over the two prior seasons.
Roberto Sainz Gonzálvez, Mt. Blue junior: The exchange student from Spain is the Cougars’ No. 1 singles player and leads a team that lost a lot of experience after going 9-4 last season.

Drake Turcotte, Skowhegan senior: The top-ranked boys player in central Maine, Turcotte reached the Round of 16 at the state singles tournament last season while leading the River Hawks to a second consecutive Class A North title.
GIRLS
Claire Dwyer, Maranacook senior: A three-year stalwart for a team that has gone 40-6 with her as the top player, Dwyer has twice reached the Round of 16 in the state singles tournament.
Lilah Goldey, Cony junior: A linchpin for a Cony team that last season posted its best win total (10) since 2011, Goldey will take over the No. 1 singles spot to start the year while teammate Kira Gregor recovers from knee surgery.
Kira Gregor, Cony sophomore: Although she will miss part of the season, Gregor, who reached the state singles quarterfinals as the No. 9 seed last year, should be a force for the Rams upon her return.

Ava Vardaros, Bangor/Nokomis junior: Nokomis has formed a co-op team with Bangor, and Vardaros, a state quarterfinalist last season at MCI, is back at Nokomis and will be the team’s No. 1 singles player.
Emma Vardaros, Bangor/Nokomis senior: Ava’s older sister made the second round of the state singles tournament last year and will be a formidable No. 2 singles player for the new Bangor/Nokomis co-op.
