EMBDEN — A 30-year-old Norridgewock woman was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash on the Kennebec River Road was reported around 6:45 p.m., Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said.

The rider of the 2016 Indian Scout motorcycle, Amanda Quirion-Clark, was taken via ambulance to Carrabec High School in North Anson, where a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter landed and took her to a hospital, Mitchell said. He was unsure Thursday morning which hospital.
Mitchell described Quirion-Clark’s injuries as serious, consisting of significant trauma, especially to her legs, as she was pinched between the bike and a guardrail.
The motorcycle did not appear to be significantly damaged.
Quirion-Clark was heading north at the time of the crash, the cause of which is unclear, Mitchell said. The primary investigator, Deputy Kehl Chadwick, was unable to speak with Quirion-Clark on scene as she was already in the ambulance, he said.
Alcohol, drugs and speeding have been ruled out as factors in the initial investigation, Mitchell said. The crash happened during daylight hours and there was no reported inclement weather.
“We have no idea why she went down,” Mitchell said.
Another man was riding a motorcycle in front of Quirion-Clark, Mitchell said. His information was not immediately available Thursday.
The Kennebec River Road runs parallel to the Kennebec River on its west side.
The Anson Fire Department and Anson-Madison-Starks Ambulance responded with the Sheriff’s Office to the crash, Mitchell said.
