The New England Patriots selected Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

Henderson is 5-foot-10, 202 pounds, and rushed for 1,016 yards on 144 carries and 10 touchdowns to help the Buckeyes win the College Football Playoff national title. He shared the backfield with Quinshon Jackson, who was selected two picks earlier by the Cleveland Browns.

In four seasons at Ohio State, Henderson rushed for 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns in 47 games. He also caught 77 passes for 853  yards and six touchdowns.

In the first round on Thursday, the Patriots selected LSU left tackle Will Campbell with the fourth overall pick. New England had two more picks in the third round, No. 66 overall and No. 79.

Also Friday, New England drafted Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams with the 69th pick and traded down twice in the third round.

Willams, 6-foot, 180 pounds, played three seasons at UNLV (including the shortened COVID season of 2020) before transferring to Washington State. He played 50 games in his career, catching 248 passes for 3,609 yards and 29 touchdowns.

New England swapped the 77th pick in the draft to the Panthers for the 85th and 146th picks. Later, the Patriots swapped the 85th pick to Chiefs for a the 95th pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
