SIDNEY — Jesse Agan — The Music of Queen plans to perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Snow Pond Center for the Arts, 8 Goldenrod Lane.

Agan is the powerhouse lead vocalist; his musical influences stem from a variety of acts across multiple genres from the Beach Boys to Van Halen, and of course Queen. He brings to life the complex and unique sound of Freddie Mercury. A Night Out fundraiser supports three local nonprofits: Snow Pond, Kennebec Valley YMCA, and Lithgow Library.
WATERVILLE — Maine Comedy All Stars Live in Waterville is set for 8 p.m. Friday at The Playhouse at Waterville Station, 17 Railroad Square.

The 13th annual Maine Pottery Tour is planned this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at various locations.

Fine Mess Pottery, at 131 Cony St. in Augusta, will have wheel demos, plates for visitors to paint and a raffle as well as pottery and other handmade items for sale. Pottery enthusiasts, art collectors and curious wanderers can plan their pottery road trip featuring 80 studios across the state using the Plan My Tour app.
Ever been to a dance circus?

FARMINGTON — The Nevaeh Dance Circus is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the University of Maine at Farmington amphitheater on Main Street. A 30-minute workshop on using the hula hoop by Nettie Gentempo is set for 1:15 p.m. in the tent area at the festival.

Founded in 2005 by sisters Nettie and Hannah Gentempo, this colorful company is known for its original and imaginative productions combining a blend of dance, circus, song, theater and handmade life-size puppets.
What is unique about the dance circus is its inclusive nature and wide spectrum of performers, from local aspiring youth, to professional artists who have been featured on stages such as America’s Got Talent.
A history walking tour, and back

WISCASSET — The Museum in the Streets Committee is set to offer Boom to Bust and Back Again, a free walking tour held as part of the global Jane’s Walk festival of free volunteer-led walking tours. The tour will begin at 10. a.m. Saturday at Castle Tucker and winds its way through the historic town concluding at the scenic waterfront.

Led by Peggy Konitzky, Midcoast Maine site manager for Historic New England, and Shannon Gilmore, executive director of the Lincoln County Historical Association, the walk offers an informative stroll through Wiscasset’s past.
Participants can explore the evolution of the town from a booming international seaport — once the busiest north of Boston — to the economic downturn caused by President Thomas Jefferson’s Embargo of 1807.
The walk will proceed down historic High Street to the Wiscasset Common, continue along Main Street, and conclude at the waterfront. Participants should be prepared to walk approximately a half-mile along sidewalks, which include some hills and uneven surfaces. Note: participants will be responsible for returning to their vehicles on their own.
Stroll for birds
WATERVILLE — A bird walk, sponsored by the Waterville Community Land Trust, is set for 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lashus Farm Neighborhood Park at 232 Water St.

Find out what birds visit Lashus Park, the Kennebec River and more with Waterville Area Birders on an easy walk of 2 1/2 miles. All are welcome, bring binoculars, bug spray and wear clothing suitable for hiking.

Attend a Celebration of Spring
AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Performing Arts Company is set to present “A Celebration of Spring” at 5 p.m. Saturday at William & Elsie Viles Auditorium at Cony High School, 60 Pierce Drive.

The concert will feature the KPAC Choir and Wind Ensemble conducted by John Neal and the Jazz Band under interim conductor Dan Gilbert.
Music selections spanning more than 200 years will performed by KPAC’s community members. The choir repertoire features works by Vivaldi, Gershwin, Grammy winning composer Christopher Tin, and Swingin’ with the Saints, a collaboration with the KPAC Jazz Band.
The jazz band will also perform music of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane as well as rock and funk tunes. The wind ensemble will present works ranging from the era of Richard Strauss and Sousa to recent compositions, including music from “Dr. Who,” “Hamilton” and “How to Train Your Dragon.”
May the Fourth be with you
GARDINER — May the Fourth Be With You featuring “Star Wars” episode 4: “A New Hope,” will be screened all day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St.
