PITTSFIELD — The Monmouth Academy softball team scored three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings Wednesday en route to a 7-1 win over Maine Central Institute. 

Shannah Parsons struck out seven batters while walking none for Monmouth (7-0) and singled twice. Rileigh Chase added a triple and a single for the Mustangs.

Kassie Snowman struck out 11 and had three hits for the Huskies (4-2).

HALL-DALE 2, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: The Bulldogs broke a 1-1 tie with a sixth-inning run and held on to beat the Phoenix in Jay.

Lucy Gray was the winning pitcher for Hall-Dale (7-0), striking out 14 and limiting Spruce Mountain to two hits while walking three batters. Jade Graham led the Bulldogs’ offense with three hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Rylee Turner fanned five and allowed one earned run over seven innings for Spruce Mountain (3-4). Santika Hodgkin doubled and drove in a run for the Phoenix, while Aubrey Mitchell singled.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 22, MT. ABRAM 0 (3 INNINGS): Madison Blanchette was 3 for 4 with four RBIs, and Addison Libby didnt allow a hit as the Falcons run-ruled the Roadrunners in Salem.

Ali Mazza and Kyanah Wing also collected three hits for Mountain Valley (7-1), and Layce Boucher drove in three runs.

Mt. Abram falls to 0-6.

ST. DOMINIC ACADEMY 7, MOUNT VIEW 0: Maddie and Emily Andrews combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Saints in Thorndike.

Maddie Andrews, who pitched four hitless innings, also doubled and singled for St. Dom’s (4-3). Chloe and Piper Croteau added two hits and and two RBIs apiece, and Cassidy Russell hit a pair of singles.

Madison Bennett had the lone hit for Mount View (0-7).

EDWARD LITTLE 10, MT. BLUE 5: Lexi Kelsea tallied four hits and three RBI and scored three runs in the Red Eddies’ (5-3) win over the Cougars (4-4) in Farmington.

Edward Little started strong, plating four runs in the top of the first inning. Kassidy Lobb drove in four runs on two hits, and Emily Poulin had three hits and and RBI.

Lobb also struck out four batters in four innings of relief. Chloe Leblanc started in the circle for the Red Eddies and finished with three strikeouts in three innings.

Leah Michaud homered and singled for Mt. Blue, while Leah Merrill and Chloe Maberry each hit a double.

BASEBALL

MADISON 7, MARANACOOK 6: The Bulldogs pulled ahead with two runs in the top of the seventh to top the Black Bears in Readfield.

Xavier Estes had a double, a single and an RBI for Madison (5-3). Landon Dunham added two singles for the Bulldogs.

Alex Spaulding had three hits for Maranacook (4-4), which got two each from Grant Walters and Will Watson.

CONY 12, NOKOMIS 7: The Rams pounded out 13 hits to claim a KVAC B North win over the Warriors in Newport.

Riley Artkop doubled and singled for Cony (7-2) in the win. Parker Morin, Trenton Hayward and Landen Perry each singled twice.

Tom Nyce had two singles for Nokomis (3-4), which committed six errors in the loss.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 14, OAK HILL 3, 5 INNINGS: Jake Harmon had three hits, including a double, to lead the Mustangs (5-2) to a win over the Raiders (1-6) in Wales.

Noah Schultz had two hits for the Mustangs, while Sam Schultz and Zane Foyt each had doubles.

Braden Dubuc had a double for Oak Hill.

EDWARD LITTLE 10, MT. BLUE 8: The Red Eddies survived a four-run seventh inning by the Cougars to claim a Class A North victory in Farmington.

TJ Kramarz went 4 for 4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI for the Red Eddies (4-5). Breccan Albert doubled, singled, drove in a run and scored three times, and Adam Meserve had a single and two RBIs.

Nolan Leso had two hits, including a double, and three runs scored for the Cougars (4-4), who committed seven errors. Jax Vienneau drove in two runs.

MT. ABRAM 12, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 6: The Roadrunners (5-1) pulled away with three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth against the Falcons in Salem Township.

Mt. Abram (5-1) led 4-3 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Walker Wolfe paced the offense with three hits, including a double. Brennan Mitchell and Killian Pillsbury also doubled.

Tyler Warren led Mountain Valley (3-4) with a pair of hits.
