NORTH ANSON — Wyatt Smith’s three hits, two runs and four RBI to lead the Carrabec baseball team to a 17-7 win over Rangeley on Wednesday.
Smith doubled and had two singles. Logan Caldwell doubled twice and finished with four hits to go along with three runs and two RBI for the Cobras (4-5). Colton Scheve and Jackson Newton also drove two runs.
Zack Davis (3 2/3 innings, five strikeouts) and Newton (1 1/3 innings, two strikeouts) combined to hold the Lakers (0-9) to one hit, a single by Ryder Sargent.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 3, MADISON 1: A three-run third inning propelled the Mustangs (8-2) past the Bulldogs (6-4) in Monmouth.
Jake Harmon doubled and drove in two runs.
Levi Laverdiere three a three-hit complete game, allowing a run and striking out seven.
Jayden Horton went six innings for Madison, allowing three hits, recording five strike outs and walking two.
Jaeson Almeida had a RBI in the fifth inning.
SOFTBALL
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 10, MADISON, 5 INNINGS: Evelyn Pelletier gave up one hit and struck out five batters to lead the Mustangs (10-0) to a win over the Bulldogs in Monmouth.
Rileigh Chase had two hits, including a two-run double, for Monmouth Academy.
Madison fell to 1-8.
CONY 15, WATERVILLE 1, 5 INNINGS: Suri Ramkissoon had three hits, including a double, to lead the Rams (8-4) past the Purple Panthers (0-9) in Augusta.
Ramkissoon also earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits while striking out 10 batters. Brodie Barrows added two hits for Cony, including a double.
Karen-Sue Byrd and Madison Wilson had doubles for Waterville.
CARRABEC 18, WISCASSET 1, 3 INNINGS: Karen Baker had two hits as the Cobras (9-1) beat the Wolverines in North Anson.
Jillian Robinson had three strikeouts to earn the win in the circle for Carrabec.
Wiscasset fell to 3-8.
ST. DOMINIC 12, VALLEY 1, 5 INNINGS: Maddie Andrews pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and walked two in the Saints’ (8-3) five-inning win over the Cavaliers (5-5) in Auburn.
Andrews also doubled and had two singles while driving in three runs. Chloe Croteau doubled and had two RBI. and Kassidy Cote also drove in a couple runs for St. Dom’s, which has won five straight games.
Madeline Hill had both of Valley’s hits and pitched all four innings.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 8, ERSKINE ACADEMY 4: Winning pitcher Olivia Ball drove in three runs with a pair of doubles, and Lilly LaBrie had two triples and two RBI for Lincoln (4-6) in a win over Erskine (5-5) at South China.
Bronwen Coffin also had two hits and scored three runs.
Jilian Desjardins scored twice and drove in a run for Erskine.
LEWISTON 7, MT. BLUE 6: Ava Dionne had four hits including a double in the Blue Devils (6-6) win over the Cougars in Lewiston.
She also drove home three runs. In the circle she struck out 10, gave up nine hits in six innings of work.
Isabella Enos, Elsie Cloutier, and Haydin Hughes each had a RBI in the win.
Madison Cote had four hits for Mt. Blue including a double while having three RBI. Leah Merrill and Molly Hambrick had two hits. Chloe Maberry had a double in the loss.
GIRLS LACROSSE
CONY 6, LEWISTON 4: Gabby Vachon scored two goals and assisted on two as the Rams (8-3) went to Lewiston and defeated the Blue Devils (1-9).
Abby Morrill added a goal and two assists to the Rams’ victory. Katelynn Dutil, Paige Logan and Casey Monson also scored, and goalie Avery Maxim made five saves.
Anna Courtemanche netted two of Lewiston’s goals, while Lexus Keene and Paige Taylor each scored one. Goalie Hannah Burleigh stopped 16 shots.
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 17, MORSE 7: Stella Stewart recorded six goals and four assists as the Black Bears (7-1) beat the Shipbuilders (6-4) in Readfield.
Alice Ferran and Emerson Davis each added three goals, and Mya St. Pierre scored twice.
Zoe Avery led Morse with three goals and an assist. Libby Reblin netted two goals.
MT. ARARAT 14, MT. BLUE 10: Evelyn Goudreau’s seven goals paced the unbeaten Eagles to a victory over the Cougars in Farmington.
Mt. Ararat (10-0), which is ranked third in the Varsity Maine poll, also received four goals from Islah Godo, two from Mia Madsen and one from Logan Morton.
Bree Griffin, Maya Kellett and Lily Huntley (three assists) each scored three goals for Mt. Blue (6-4). Alaya Smith, Grace Allen, Abbi Donald and Nina Bogar had one apiece.
