Boston Red Sox pitcher Richard Fitts threw three scoreless innings on a rehab assignment Thursday, and the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Reading Fightin Phils, 6-3, at Hadlock Field in Portland.

Fitts, who is on the injured list because of a right pectoral strain, allowed four hits, struck out two and didn’t walk a batter. He began the season in Boston’s rotation and made three starts before his injury.

Trailing 3-2, the Sea Dogs scored four times in the seventh inning to take the lead. Mikey Romero and Ahbram Liendo both walked with the bases loaded, and Caden Rose scored on a balk. Allan Castro added a sacrifice fly.

Blaze Jordan was 2 for 4 with two RBI. He had RBI singles in the first and third innings.

Christopher Troye earned the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. He didn’t allow a hit, struck out two and walked two.

Charles King allowed two runs (one earned) in six innings for Reading. He gave up six hits, struck out three and didn’t walk a batter.
