The Messalonskee baseball team snapped a five-game losing streak Wednesday with a 13-9 victory over Edward Little in Auburn.
Ty Bernier had two hits and three RBI for Messalonskee (7-6), which got two hits, two RBI and three runs scored from Jordan Lewis. Sean Achorn struck out four in as many innings on the mound to get the win.
Breccan Albert had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs for Edward Little (5-9). Chase Scammon tallied a double, a single, a run and an RBI, while Isaac Jalbert had two hits, an RBI and two runs. TJ Kramarz doubled, singled and scored twice.
CONY 5, OCEANSIDE 1: The Rams notched their sixth consecutive victory and stayed atop Class B North by topping the Mariners in Augusta.
Landen Perry struck out six, issued zero walks and allowed three hits in five innings of work for the Rams (11-2). Anderson Noyes had a single and two runs scored.
Dylan Chiaramonte had two hits for Oceanside (7-7).
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 11, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0 (5 INNINGS): Zane Foyt had a double, two singles and two RBI as the Mustangs mercy-ruled the Phoenix in Jay.
Rory Foyt doubled and drove in three runs. Jake Harmon (two runs scored) and Bryce Fletcher (run, RBI) each had a triple for the Mustangs.
Levi Laverdiere pitched four innings for Monmouth (10-4), striking out five and allowing two hits. Harmon pitched the final inning for the Mustangs to preserve the shutout.
Spruce Mountain (2-11) got a double from Max Labonte and a single from Austin Armandi.
MT. BLUE 8, SKOWHEGAN 2: Dane Cousineau pitched a three-hitter and drove in three runs as the Cougars earned their fifth straight victory by beating the River Hawks in Farmington.
Cousineau stuck out 10 batters in seven innings on the mound for Mt. Blue (9-4). At the plate, he was 2 for 4 with a double. Nolan Leso finished with a team-best three hits and drove in a run, while Oliver Cormier (double, RBI) and Jax Vienneau (RBI) had two hits apiece and Ben Wrigley doubled.
Miller Foss doubled and Trevor Austin drove in a run for Skowhegan (5-9).
SOFTBALL
CONY 13, OCEANSIDE 3 (5 INNINGS): Suri Ramkissoon had three hits at the plate and struck out six with no walks in the circle as the Rams beat the Mariners in Augusta.
Olivia Duplessis, Ava Brown, Brodie Barrows and Reve Turner had two hits each for Cony (9-4), which had 15 hits and scored nine of its runs in the fourth inning.
Oceanside (0-14) scored all three runs in the third inning.
CARRABEC 12, FOREST HILLS 2 (5 INNINGS): Jillian Robinson pitched a complete game and had three hits at the plate as the Cobras run-ruled the Tigers in Jackman.
Aiyana Tibbetts added two hits, including a triple, for Carrabec (10-2). Ava Welch smacked a double.
Jannessa Moffitt had an RBI single for Forest Hills (5-6).
MONMOUTH 9, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0: Shannah Parsons pitched a shutout for the Mustangs, striking out 12 Phoenix batters and scattering five hits over seven innings in Jay.
Parsons also helped the offense with two hits. Lila Poussard finished with a team-high three hits, Rileigh Chase had two, and Isabella Lyons, Riley Smith, Lillian Palleschi and Rileigh Chase each drove in a run for Monmouth (14-0).
Rylee Turner struck out seven batters for Spruce Mountain (6-6) and had one hit.
EDWARD LITTLE 3, MESSALONSKEE 2: Chloe LeBlanc pitched all seven innings for the Red Eddies, striking out 13 and walking two Eagles batters for the win in Auburn.
Elizabeth Galway tallied three hits for Edward Little (8-6). Kassidy Lobb added a hit, a run and an RBI.
Olivia Thomas finished with two hits and scored both runs for Messalonskee (2-10).
LINCOLN ACADEMY 9, GARDINER 3: Amelia Starbird was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored, and Olivia Ball allowed only two hits as the Eagles beat the Tigers in Gardiner.
Ball also had a good day at the plate with a double, two singles and two RBI. Bronwen Coffin and Brea Lafrenaye each contributed two hits for Lincoln (6-8), including a triple by Lafrenaye.
Molly Takatsu belted a triple, drove in a run and scored once for Gardiner (4-9).
GIRLS LACROSSE
CONY 15, DEERING 7: Abby Morrill and Gabby Vachon scored four goals apiece as Cony prevailed in the Battle of the Rams in Portland.
Casey Monson added three goals for Cony (10-3) in the win. Emma Buccellatto, Harper Lawrence, Ellie Leeman and Paige Logan had a goal each.
Deering (1-10) got three goals from Sofia Nieves, two from Quincey Cummings and one each from Isa Garcia and Maya Zager. Goalie Jael Mbadu made 14 saves.
