I held off writing about Rep. Laurel Libby until I read the letter, published on May 26, “Libby a true supporter of womens rights.” Libby’s actions were not meant to support or protect women’s rights, it was an action against transgender women. She saw the opportunity to jump on the Republican bandwagon to out and rid our country of transgender people.
Libby can attempt to make this about sports and women’s rights, but it was more about propelling her own image and status. She caught the attention of President Trump and got to stand next to Attorney General Pam Bondi in front of the cameras. Let’s hope this is the end of her 15 minutes of fame.
