Stephen Eugene Moreau
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – Stephen Eugene Moreau, 59, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on April 15, 2025, at the Collierville Baptist Memorial (BMH) Hospital. Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on June 30, 1965, Steve was the beloved son of Eugene Moreau and Patricia (King) Moreau of Old Town. He would have celebrated his 60th birthday on June 30, 2025.
In 1969, the Moreau family moved to Farmingdale, where Steve attended the Hall-Dale School System and graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1984. He pursued higher education at the University of Maine, Orono, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering, and later earned a master’s degree (MBA) from the University of Ohio. Since 1994, Steve had made Collierville, Tennessee his home working in various management roles within the pulp and paper industry.
Steve’s life was marked by his love for travel and adventure. He married Carol (Pauley) Woods in a beautiful ceremony at Tabacon, Costa Rica, on Nov. 23, 2006. Together, they explored the United States, creating cherished memories along the way. Steve’s passion for travel was evident in the significant milestones of his life; born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., married Carol in Tabacon, Costa Rica, and passed away in Collierville, Tenn.
Steve and Carol shared a deep affection for animals, always having two large dogs and at least one cat as part of their family.
Steve was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Moreau.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol Woods, of Collierville, Tenn.; and three adult children, Benjamin, Savannah, and Katelyn. Steve is also survived by his father, Eugene Moreau, of Hallowell; his sister, Cheryl Moreau, of Portland; his cousin, Rosemarie Legasse, of Bangor; and a very special friend, Timothy Spencer, of Winthrop.
Steve will be laid to rest at the Maine Avenue Cemetery in Farmingdale, Maine in the Moreau family plot. The committal will be June 30, at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a local animal shelter, hospice program, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
